Atlantic
Boating News – Your Guide to Outdoor Adventure is written by and for Atlantic
Canadians, covering all aspects of boating, from power and sail, safety
and maintenance to events and outdoor adventures. Our goal is to provide
comprehensive, timely and informative coverage of the region’s boating
and recreational environment for our subscribers, advertisers and avid
readers of our publication. The magazine – published six times per year
– is distributed to subscribers,
marine chandlers, and yacht clubs, and can be purchased on newsstands at
Sobey’s, Lawtons and Chapters bookstores around Atlantic Canada. As

Town of The

event responds to the increasing interest and demand for recreational
boating infrastructure in this province. Commodore Lloyd Fudge of the
Lewisporte Yacht Club says, “Recreational boating is directly
responsible for $291 million tourism related expenditures to the Atlantic
Canada economy, with $127 million of this in The

management, and environmental stewardship. It will also feature a boat
show to showcase the province’s boatbuilding industry. Extending
over two days, the event combines presentations from industry leaders with

Impact of Recreational Boating in Source: “Economic
Impact of the Canadian Recreational Boating Industry: 2006” Prepared by: Genesis
Public Opinion Research Inc. & Smith Gunther Associates This
economic impact study commissioned by the Canadian Branch of the National
Marine Manufacturers Association via the Discover Boating initiative and
the Provincial Marina Strategy study commissioned by the Atlantic Canada
Opportunities Agency and Innovation, Trade and Rural Development will
provide a backdrop for delegate discussions at the Lewisporte conference. The
“North Atlantic Marina and Recreational Boating Conference” in
Lewisporte June 18th to 21st. this year will focus
on the economic opportunities associated with this growing sector of the
North American economy. The
conference is targeting rural areas of the province with an interest in
developing or expanding their marine infrastructure and is formatted to
focus on economic opportunities and a cooperative provincial strategy that
will maximize these initiatives. Conference
Chair, Chris Vincent is confident this event will accomplish its objective
of highlighting the importance of this sector to the provincial economy.
